My name is Tarek, but everyone calls me Tako!
I am from Syria, and I have spent 5 years in Egypt for my undergraduate degree and starting my 3rd year in Japan. I decided to live in Japan for many reasons, mainly cultural ones. I travelled a bit around Japan (7 prefectures and counting). Also, I love exploring various aspects of the social life in Japan for both foreigners and Japanese people as well and their interactions. I recently started training kyudo (Japanese archery), and I play some table tennis, and love taking long walks!
Currently I have just finished my master’s degree and started my first year of PhD in computer science, as well as my first year as Student Ambassador, one of hopefully many.
