School of Engineering
Student Ambassador from April 2021 to March 2022

Hello, I’m Tanoy from Information and Communications Engineering department. I am an international student from Bangladesh, and I came to Japan in 2017 by receiving MEXT scholarship to join Integrated Doctoral Education Program. I had completed my master’s degree in 2019, and currently I am doing Ph.D at Nakamoto Lab. Some of my hobbies include reading, listening to music, playing cricket, and of course make a tour with my friends. Our lab makes significant effort into research on odor recorder and olfactory display and also doing research on odor-sensing systems mimicking performance of the biological (human) olfaction. I am currently doing research on machine olfaction to predict the smell impression of the target odor using deep learning technique. Other than doing research in on-campus, currently I am working as a Research Assistant (Part Time) at Sony Computer Science Lab, Tokyo where I focus on the topic of food production and biodiversity using Artificial Intelligence.
