Nada Zaghloul

Biography

Department of Chemical Science and Engineering
School of Materials and Chemical Technology
Student Ambassador from April 2022 to September 2023

Hello! My name is Nada Zaghloul. With an easily pronounceable first name and an impossible-to-pronounce surname in Japan, I prefer to be called Nada. I am Egyptian and I came to Japan in the fall of 2018 to study at Tokyo Tech. I received my masters in 2020 and proceeded directly to a PhD in Chemical Science and Engineering. Although I spent most of my life in Egypt, I have actually lived in Japan between the age of 1 to 4 years. Therefore, the idea of coming to Japan did not seem unexpected to me, although I did not really plan for it to be this way. I knew I wanted to study abroad and upon researching opportunities I came across the IGP-A program offered by Tokyo Tech, which suited me very much. In the end, isn’t it interesting that I began my education at a nursery here in Japan and have returned to receive my PhD?! 😉
