Selected students will be formally appointed by the Institute’s Executive Vice President for Education as “Science Tokyo Student Ambassadors.”

As a Student Ambassador, you will be a public representative of Science Tokyo, communicating and engaging with prospective students and their families, as well as visitors to campus and to the Admissions website. As a contributor to the Admissions website, you will write posts for the Ambassadors’ Blog with the aim of engaging prospective international students by describing your experiences and impressions of campus life at Science Tokyo.
Student Ambassador に任命された学生は、主に海外に住む東京科学大学への留学希望者に向け、本学学生を代表して東京科学大学での学生生活や、研究生活などについて、「英語ブログ」を発信することが主な任務です。留学生はもちろん、日本人学生で英語ブログ発信に関心のある方も募集しています。
We are eager to receive application from diverse range of Schools and Departments from Ookayama, Suzukakedai and Tamachi Campus.
Currently, 19 Science Tokyo students from 12 countries and regions were appointed as Student Ambassadors 2025. These students, who represent various levels of study and possess different motives for coming to Japan and the Institute, share their thoughts on research at Science Tokyo, the challenges of learning Japanese, the support system around them, and various other topics on the Science Tokyo Ambassadors’ Blog.
To be considered for the appointment, you must:
- Be a current Science Tokyo student enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral or Professional Master’s degree program, and expected to graduate on or after March 2027. If you plan to proceed to Master’s or Doctoral course in Oct 2026, please assume the expected graduation date of the next program.
- Bachelor student must be 2nd-year undergraduate or above.
- Understand the role of the Science Tokyo Student Ambassador as one who serves as a model student and public representative of Science Tokyo.
- Obtain prior consent from a supervising faculty member before applying, and clearly indicate who this faculty member is, if the applicant is currently 4th-year undergraduate or above.
- Possess strong communication (writing and speaking) skills in English.
- Be open-minded and adept at connecting with others.
- Be self-motivated, dependable, responsible and respond to communication sent from Admissions Center.
- Be or have been actively participating in extracurricular campus activities and/or community service.
- Be in good academic standing toward the completion of your degree program.
- Be a person who is positive and enjoys life!
Duration of appointment:
- April 2026 to March 2027 (one academic year)
- Your term as a Student Ambassador can be renewed for another year on request, for one time only, pending review by Admissions Center at the end of academic year.
Student Ambassadors are expected to:
- Join preliminary meeting and kick-off ceremony at the beginning of their term as Student Ambassador.
- Write your first blog post (500 – 1600 words with photo images) by the end of 2nd Quarter, thereafter approximately once every 3 – 6 months.
- Instructions regarding the blog posts will be provided. Admissions Center will review, and if necessary, edit content with the consent of the writer, before uploading.
- Contribute to other events aimed at attracting prospective students and assisting or guiding visitors to campus.
Benefits:
- JPY 3,630 (Including tax) per one blog post (as of Jan 2026).
- JPY 1,230 ~ (Excluding consumption tax) per hour for attending a preliminary meeting and Kick-Off Ceremony, or participating in other designated events (as of Jan 2026).

- Resume building: gain experience and develop skills in marketing, writing for social media, public speaking, and event planning.
- Networking: collaborate with other Student Ambassadors from different departments and degree programs.
Serving as a Student Ambassador is a great way to develop valuable professional skills, gain work experience, broaden your network, and enhance your personal development.
